Privacy Policy

Who we are

Flintio (“we”, “us”) provides an online tool that converts documents into study flashcards using Flintio AI. This page explains what information is involved when you use the service and how we treat it.

Information you provide

When you use Flintio, you may upload files such as PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), or PowerPoint (.pptx) files so that Flintio AI can read the text and generate flashcards. You may also interact with features that send text or settings related to flashcard generation (for example, how many cards you request).

Do not upload files that contain sensitive personal data you are not allowed to share, or confidential information that your school or employer prohibits from being processed by online tools.

How uploads are used

Uploaded documents are processed so Flintio AI can extract readable text and return flashcards in your browser session. Processing is tied to providing the service you asked for: converting your study materials into flashcards you can review or export.

This MVP is designed to avoid persistent storage of your documents by default. Files are handled for generation and are not kept as a personal document library inside the product unless we clearly state otherwise in the interface or in a future update to this policy.

Third parties

We do not sell your uploaded files or your flashcard content to third parties. We do not share your documents with advertisers. If we use infrastructure or model providers strictly to run the app (for example, hosting or Flintio AI processing), those providers may process content only as needed to operate the service, under appropriate agreements and security practices.

We do not allow third parties to use your study files for their own marketing or unrelated model training beyond what is required to deliver Flintio unless we obtain clear consent and describe that use here.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use basic cookies or local storage needed for the site to function, security, or preferences. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through Flintio. No online service can guarantee perfect security. If you believe your use of the product exposed sensitive data by mistake, stop uploading that material and contact us using the address shown in the site footer.

Logs and diagnostics

Like most web applications, Flintio may create short-lived technical logs when you use the site. Logs can include items such as timestamps, approximate error messages, and basic request metadata. We use this information to keep the service reliable, investigate abuse, and fix bugs. We do not use logs to sell advertising profiles, and we limit access to people who need it for engineering or security work.

If you report a bug, we may ask for a screenshot or a short description. Only share what you are comfortable sharing, and avoid attaching highly sensitive personal documents unless we explicitly agree to handle them.

Retention

Because this version of Flintio is built around on-demand conversion rather than long-term document storage, uploaded study files are not intended to remain on our systems after processing completes. Operational backups or temporary caches may exist for a limited time depending on hosting configuration, but they are not meant to replace a personal archive of your coursework.

If we change retention practices in a future release, we will update this Privacy Policy and describe what is stored, for how long, and why.

Your choices

You can stop using Flintio at any time. If you contact us with a privacy request (for example, access or deletion where applicable), we will respond in line with the laws that apply to you and to our role as a service provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, object to, or restrict certain processing of personal data, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We will verify requests where the law requires it and explain any limits that apply.

Children

Flintio is intended for learners who can lawfully agree to use online study tools. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child provided information they should not have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we publish a new version. Continued use of Flintio after an update means you accept the revised policy.
